“In late May of 2012 after experiencing some minor chest pain and after several tests it was determined that I had 96-98% blockage in the major arteries around my heart, and that I would need (at least) a triple bypass surgery.
The minute we arrived at the hospital we knew we were where we needed to be! The hospital was so different and so much better than anything I had ever seen in the US. All the rooms faced an open garden area with fresh air, lawn, trees, birds chirping, and the wonderful sound of a stone fountain in the center…We sat down with the two surgeons and they introduced themselves and explained what was going to happen. We totally felt at home there, being able to share our concerns, having our questions answered.
The surgery that Dr. Victal did is called the ‘beating heart surgery.’ It’s a special surgery where there is the least amount of invasiveness…the heart doesn’t have to be stopped, the lungs are full, so the recovery time is much shorter – it’s state of the art…I am totally satisfied with the service, and the people, and the surgeons. It all came out better than I hoped for.”
